Our trip from Kinder to Abbeville, Louisiana, was smooth and we arrived about noon in a bit of sleet. No change in weather….even here in Betty’s paradise it was cold and sleeting. Everybody was inside staying warm.
Betty had arranged for the gang to go to Cypress Bayou Casino for their monthly “party” and most everyone went, so at 4 p.m. the bus arrived and the RV park was pretty much deserted. Betty had called us last week to see if we wanted to go, but we declined.
So at 4 p.m. we joined the Mossmans for “happy hour” (read green tea for me) and then ate dinner together. We spent a nice evening with them playing Mexican Train.
The gang got home about 10 p.m. with Dodo and Bernie banging on our door and informing us lunch was at Abshire’s in Kaplan today. Now it begins…a month full of activities nearly every day leading up to Mardi Gras on March 4th.
You’ll know Jim and I go to bed early and wake up really early, but last night we modified that so we could watch Jay Leno’s last night on the Today Show. Billy Crystal did a good job being Leno’s last guest completing the circle, as Crystal was Leno’s first guest 20 something years ago.
We’re happy to be back at Betty’s and look forward to having lunch with everyone and get reacquainted. Hope you have a good day as well, with those you love.
