Atchafalaya Basin Festival-Henderson

I forgot to write about our Saturday venture so here it is.

Saturday a bunch of us went to Henderson’s Gumbo and Fish Courtbouillion Cook Off and Car Show.

It was a very small festival with only about four to six contenders, a few “arts and craft” booths and about 30 vehicles. There was constant Cajun/Zydeco music being played so I was happy.

You bought tickets to taste the food contestants made.  For $2 you got a bowl with rice in it and then you could go around and taste the different food.

and my portion.   Wasn’t bad, but I’d prefer the gumbo.

Jim got a kick out of the hearse’s clever display

Since there wasn’t much going on at the festival we decided to drive back and stop at Touchet’s and their Saturday Jam Session.

There were four different festivals going on Saturday, so we all gathered back on the deck at Betty’s and shared our experiences at happy hour.

Another wonderful day in Abbeville, Louisiana.

Remember, you are loved.
