New Years Eve 2013

DSCN1531

Jim an I started out the day by making a turkey pot pie out of all the leftovers from our extra Christmas turkey dinner.  It came out so good.

But come 4:30 the real happening of the day came about….New Year’s Eve at Betty’s RV Park!!!  Horrraaaayyy!!!!!

We certainly didn’t suffer from the lack of food.

Bernie started making his now infamous Duck Farts

while Dan offered Died Nazis (Jagermeister and peppermint schnapps)

Pretty soon out came Dodo’s keyboard and Dan’s amp and guitar.  The music came out hot and heavy with many folks taking the mike….the later it got, the more the libations flowed, more people got up and gave it a try.  Betty found she knew quite a few of the songs….she would sing, sit down, then hear the next song starting up and up she’d go to sing another one. She was so cute!

And the music brought out the dancers…

Towards the end things got a little crazy when someone brought out a funny hunters hat with antlers that moved back and forth

As midnight drew closer the fireworks started up and they are a big deal here in Louisiana.  There doesn’t seem to be any restrictions, so the big boomers lit the sky and frightened the pets.  On a late night trip to the rig to get another ginger ale I found Poncho whimpering under the covers in bed.  Broke my heart so Jim and I came home about 10:30 to comfort our pet.  We stayed up till 11:30 but couldn’t make it another half hour…..hay, what do you expect from two old _________….just fill in the blank.

So that was our holiday……what did you do?  Did you make it to midnight?  Whether you did or not I hope you were with those who love you.

Remember, YOU are loved.
Read the story behind this saying HERE this is a neat story and a good one to start off your new year.
