Friends & Campers

It is getting to the end of season and we are all getting weary.  Rich and Terri manage a local commercial RV park and they really are tired!  We had them over the other night just to get them away from their park and to talk to someone else beside campers. We had a camp fire and toasted marshmallows and let them vent.

You know when you make s’mores and the chocolate never melts when you sandwich it between the graham crackers and roasted marshmallow?  Well, I came up with an idea that worked out good.  Instead of using a few squares of Hershey’s chocolate, I smeared on a teaspoon of chocolate FROSTING from a can…it’s already sorta melted when you spread it on…worked great!                                                                                                                                               We always laugh a lot when we are with Rich and Terri and this night was no exception!  Can’t wait to work with them when we all go to amazon.com in Campbellsville, Kentucky! Hopefully we will travel together for the rest of the winter also.

The next night we had a couple of campers who were originally from Morocco.  What delightful young men they were and real cutie pies! They were riding motorcycles and didn’t have a water container, so they came by and I gave them a water pitcher to use.  Then they came over because they lost their utensils during the day’s ride; so I gave them some plastic spoons.

The next morning when they left they gave me a small tent as they were on their way to Taos and Santa Fe and would be staying in hotels.  We had a such a nice conversation and I even gave them our daughter’s phone number as she lives in Santa Fe.

You meet such interesting folks when you camphost a campground!  That’s one of the greatest parts of the job.

Remember, you are loved!

  1. How about using Nutella spread instead of canned icing? It is suppose to have some nutritional value as well! lol
