Linda X Two

Thursday we waved goodbye to The Scotts and seven hours later waved hello to The Two Lindas or Linda X Two as they are known on their blog.

They drove all the way from Abilene, TX, over 600 miles to get here and be the next occupant of Camp Chapman.

We first met The Two Lindas in 2008 when we all worked at amazon.com in Coffeyville, KS, and have been friends ever since.  We’ve been lucky to be able to merge our travel plans a couple times a year to see each other.

Friday we ran a bunch of errands around town.  Linda B’s grandson sent her a Flat Stanley to use taking photos of him in different locations before mailing back in two weeks.  So we went to the library, the train display, in front of several statues, etc. to show him some things here in Alamosa, CO.  We even took a photo with Stanley being held by a child in their pajamas at the evening movie at the library of “Frozen”.

They were going to stay till Sunday, but the impending weather change necessitated their leaving for Breckenridge on Saturday ahead of the big snow storm. (They work for AGS Publishing which provide campground guides.)  They are expecting to get 8-12 inches of snow  in Breckenridge on Sunday…..yes, and it is May 11th.  On the news last night they said the latest snow storm in Denver had been June 12 back in the 60s.

We aren’t expecting any snow down here in Alamosa, but the rest of Colorado is going to be pretty much all full of snow.  I am soooo tired of being cold and facing wind every day….enough already!!!!  We’ve used our heater every day since last September when we left here.  I want sunshine so I can sit outside under the awning knitting a scarf or reading my Kindle!!!

I was able to spend some good quality time with The Two Lindas this week, for which I am very grateful.  They are wonderful and interesting people and Jim and I love being with them.

Yes, the wind is blowing like crazy….oh, well, we’ll just hibernate inside today.

Remember, you are loved.
