Family and the Fish House

Yesterday we had the delightful meeting with our nephew, Sean, who lives in Pensacola.  It has been eight years since we’ve seen him, so it was a just wonderful to be with him again.  We’re so proud of him completing his education, professionally employed and a homeowner.  We’re so happy to have him part of our family.

Sean chose to go to Sunday Brunch at the Fish House yesterday, right on the water with beautiful scenery.  Unfortunately although it was clear and sunny, it was still a bit cold so we decided to sit inside.  But the scenery overlooking the marina was beautiful.

The Fish House offers $2 Bloody Marys or $3 Mimosas, so here is my Virgin Mary complete with olive, pickled green bean and okra.  The restaurant also gives you a plate of small beignets to munch after you order.  Nice touch.

I ordered Cheese Grits and Shrimp Ya-Ya and the guys had their Emerald Coast Benedict with fried green tomatoes and crab cake with poached eggs.

Sean comes from New Mexico and mentioned how he missed fresh green chiles and other Mexican foods.  So we invited him back to our rig and I told him “we’ll fix you up”.  I made up a Mexican Food Care Package with six packets of frozen green chiles (courtesy of our Espanola friends, the Abeytas), some red chile pods from my ristra, some dried posole and a bag of New Mexican chile powder.  Sean was very happy and grateful.

Soon it was time to watch the Charger-Bronco game with Sandy and Charles….what a wonderful outcome.  Go Broncos!!!

Sandy and Charles drove over to the beach to see the sunset before the end of the game, but it was beautiful even from the campground.

Then came 8 p.m. and it was the golden hour for Downton Abbey….ahhhh, what twists in the plot there were.  Love that show.

We had a full and wonderful day which we thoroughly enjoyed.

Remember, you are loved.
