We had an uneventful three hour drive from Abbeville back east to Bayou Segnette State Park yesterday. There are 4 rigs of us wanting to go to New Orleans before we head out to our spring/summer destinations.
We had happy hour outside making plans for our sightseeing trip today, what to see, how we will get around, etc. The conversation was sweet and lively.
Jim Mossman made a wonderful gumbo using sausage from the South End Country Store in Lafayette and Jim and I gave him some of the shrimp we bought the last time we were here. The mixture came out very good.
Soon we will drive into New Orleans to have chicory coffee and beignets at Cafe Du Monde to start off our day and then we’ll see what there is to do in New Orleans ha-ha.
