Tired and weary

We are tired and weary and nursing our sore muscles and stiff back.  We have been so busy at work that they even asked us coaches to Stow the last two days.  It was fun but after 10 hours of stooping, bending, stretching I sure was feeling all of my 68.5 years of age.

We “hibernated” all day…sitting quietly, read on my Kindle and napped.  Jim made a “hooch” run to last us a couple of weeks till we leave here. But otherwise we just stayed quiet and gave our bodies time to repair and recover itself before we go back to work Monday.

It has been cold and then all of a sudden it got real windy and then it SNOWED.  Yes, snowed!!!  There isn’t any accumulation, but I sure dread seeing those flakes.  Monday through Wednesday it is going to get really cold….down to 17 degrees!  Oh, burrrrrrr. Thankfully we only have 9 working days to go until our commitment with amazon.com is over….that being Dec. 23rd, which is the last day we can send out merchandise and have it get to our customer by Christmas day.

We certainly have enjoyed our stay here in Campbellsville, KY, and working for amazon.com.  This fulfillment center is very nice, well laid out and well managed.  The fulltime employees are very friendly and welcoming and are happy to have us come in to work.  They appreciate our mature work ethic and commitment.  We work hard, and work along side them. We help them reach their goals.  The folks in town are very friendly and appreciate the influx we provide the economy here.  We spread around a lot of money in groceries and restaurants.

We are thinking of staying here for Christmas as we really don’t want to be on the road during the Christmas traffic rush of folks going to family for the holiday.  This way we will be with friends and can share a turkey dinner together…or maybe we’ll have a nice prime rib, which we have done in the past.  It sure beats being on the road and having Christmas dinner at a truck stop somewhere.

Then we plan on stopping by my brother’s house in North Carolina for a couple of days, then on to Summerdale, Alabama, for a week or two, staying at an RV park belonging to the Escapees RV Club.  It is a favorite of ours and we look forward to seeing our friends who return there every year.

Remember, you are loved.

  1. Work, Eat, sleep, repeat, repeat, repeat. Yep, same here ! After all, we are in the Amazon Peak season. The "tail light parade" will be here before we know it though.

  2. The plantation is our favorite Escapee park! but we are going to head south and west. Warm and sunny then we'll stop and thaw out. Your right Amazon.com has been a good experience but I will be happy to hit the road and go back to sleeping a little later. Sure glad Jim is doing the driving to work so nice to get into a warm truck,
