A Day Off - Finally

Yes, today we took a full day off!!! Jim has been wanting to go back to Ef’s Mexican Restaurant in Alamosa for a breakfast skillet with green chile; then the Mossman’s needed to go to Walmart for meds - sooooo - we made a day of it.

We left the campground at 8:02 a.m. in our civvies and arrived in Alamosa at exactly 9:02 a.m.  Breakfast was fab as always.  The Half-Skillet with hash browns, scrambled egg, with veggies (for me) or sausage (for Jim and Linda) topped with green chile sauce and a tortilla or toast….yummy!!! Jim Mossman enjoyed his Denver omelet.

Then a whirlwind of stops to Ace Hardware, storage shed, tour of the new fire department and finally Walmart.  The new fire department is amazing! In the new design they changed the orientation of the doors so now the trucks can just drive in one end and drive out the other….a real drive thru!!!

Here’s a collage of the fire trucks.

Afterwards being lunch time and us being in Monte Vista….we’ll we naturally went to Baldo’s for lunch. Remember, Baldo’s is no fav and we hadn’t taken the Mossman’s there yet.  Unfortunately, Jim and the Mossman’s weren’t very hungry….but it didn’t stop me from enjoying their buffet to the fullest!  Happily, everyone seemed to enjoy what they did eat, so all ended well.

We got back to the campground to find some old friends had arrived as expected.  This is Dianne and Tom Wartman, whom we met some 20 years ago when we attended the same church.  We haven’t seen them since we’ve been on the road. Dianne “found” us when she was surfing the net for information on fulltime RVing and came across our blog and emailed me.

Tom is with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Department and they now live in Roswell, New Mexico. They are up here for Creede’s Annual Gem and Mineral Show that takes place this weekend.  The Wartman’s are thinking about fulltime RVing in three years and so we exchanged information.  The Mossman’s came over and the six of us had a grand time getting to know each other and sharing thoughts about this wonderful fulltime RVing lifestyle.

So that was our day off…..what did you do today?

Remember, you are loved.
