When we left for Escapade I soaked the calla lily for an hour and hoped for the best. When we returned 12 days later this is what we found……ugh……
It was dry, limp and the leaves were laying down on the table….ugly
So I thought…throw it away, it’s done. Oh, well, it can’t get any worse, so let me just soak it again and see what happens. So it went into a sink full of water for a couple of hours and put it back on the table. Later that night this is what it looked like……those darn leaves started to rise up….
By the next morning, the plant was back to a full straight up beautiful plant
Amazing…..happy Palm Sunday….
Remember, you are loved.
What an amazing plant because it sure did look dead. I have two plants in our motor home and they've survived a lot of abuse and neglect but keep on coming back. Have fun.
ReplyDeleteWhen we are going on long trips we leave our plants with neighbors. When we go on short trips (a week or two) after watering them we stick a water ball in the soil which stops them from nearly dying. Glad it came back for you.
ReplyDeleteHappy Palm Sunday!
Be Safe and Enjoy!
It's about time.
Your Peace Lily is beautiful. Is it the pink variety? So glad that it recovered. We used to put all of our indoor plants in a kiddie pool with a couple of inches of water in the bottom when going away for more than a week. It worked well
ReplyDeleteIt is the white flower variety...just pink tissue paper. Thanks for the tip of the kids pool for absences I'll do that.
