Wayne and Rhonda Scott of TurnWhenTheRoadDoes have read our blog even before they went fulltime RVing. A couple weeks ago Wayne contacted me about stopping by and meeting us. So they came into Camp Chapman Monday for a few days.
After they got set up we went to Cavillo’s for dinner. They have a very good large Mexican buffet with a lot of choices, so it is a good place to take guests. On the way we saw this interesting camper on the street.
Being Cinco de Mayo Margaritas were in order.
Wayne and Rhonda have taken Jim’s and my workamping activities as a bit of a guide for their own activities….Wayne worked for amazon.com in Campbellsville, KY and they are going to be camphosts at Green Ridge Campground in Granby, CO working for American Land and Leisure, who we worked for, for six years.
After a good talk we retired and regrouped the next morning. Being Monday when many restaurants close, I took them to Ef’s for breakfast which they enjoyed.
Wayne needed a screen door latch kit as his broke over night. So after breakfast we drove up to South Fork to Holiday RV Sales. They did have a kit that worked.
Next we drove up to Lower and Upper Beaver Campgrounds so they could see some pretty settings.[Yes, it is the same place we took Merlene and Dan Goan]
Jim got back home last night from moving our eldest daughter to San Diego, flying back to Albuquerque, picking up our granddaughter and driving back to Alamosa. He was tired and drained so we stayed in and ordered a pizza for dinner.
This morning was breakfast at Campus CafĂ© [yes, we took the Goans there too. What can I say - limited places to go in a small town]. They enjoyed the 1950’s look of the place. And look at Wayne’s face when they brought out the gigantic homemade cinnamon roll. It really is mammoth!
When we finished breakfast……..what? what do you mean where are the photos of our breakfast choices? Huh? Really? Well, OK. Here is my eggs and green chili and Jim’s Spanish omelet. Satisfied??????
After breakfast The Scotts went to the Great Sand Dunes National Park and Jim got our granddaughter ready to drive her to Colorado Springs to be with her father. At 20 years old the granddaughter will be in a new place and will have a new start. Say a prayer for her, please, in wishing her and our daughter well in their new homes and new separate lives.
I’m waiting for Jim to come home and then we’ll all go out to dinner as we close out The Scotts’ visit with us. I’ll have one day to get laundry done and then we welcome our dear friends, The Two Lindas, for a couple days visit as they drive through on their way to Breckenridge. Jim’s brother is very kind and understanding to let our friends boondock here at Camp Chapman. We do SO love having our RV friends stop by to see us as they travel through Colorado.
Remember, you are loved.
Ha Ha! If you keep showing that cinnamon roll I might have to swing bye for one!
