Mississippi to Louisiana

Wednesday we left Ocean Springs, MS and drove to Bayou Segnette State Park in Westwego, LA just outside of New Orleans.  On the way we passed several bridges which Terri and I didn’t really appreciate, shall we say.  We have this “thing” with bridges.  I spend a lot of time with my eyes closed and hummmmm.  Terri keeps her eyes open and under her breath she just repeats over and over “ah, shit…ah shit…”

Look how narrow it is

We drove down Hwy 90 part of the way and you can still see the damage done by Katrina.

Then there it was…the skyline of New Orleans…

We arrived in Bayou Segnette State Park around noon. Rates are $18 and they USE TO honor Golden Age Passes, but stopped this last July for budgetary reasons, unless your state of residency also honors the Golden Age Pass at their state parks.  Unfortunately, only Delaware and Maryland do that. The Mossman’s spent several winters in this area at the state parks, but this change in rate policy put a stop to that this year.  We’ll only stay four days.

Remember you are loved.
