We traveled from Yuma to Gila Bend in about 2.5 hours. We added Trisha Schmidt to our little caravan and parked together at Holt's RV Park behind the Shell station off I-8. It's a nice, clean park and they offer 50% off for Passport America and Escapees.
After a fast set-up we all went to Sophia's Mexican Restaurant in town. OMG was it fabulous! In fact, Jim C said it was the closest to the taste we left behind in Alamosa, Colorado. The carne asada was their specialty and Jim M said it was very good. Online someone described it as sitting down to a Mexican's family home table to share a meal. It tasted very homemade.
We shared happy hour with a Canadian fellow next door and enjoyed the evening. It was nice not having to turn off the generator at 10 pm and watching some late night tv because we have hookups.
This is a big work day with laundry, defrost the freezer, vacuum and dust out two months of desert sand; Jim will wash the truck and rig and get off all the mud from out time out on Sidewinder Road.
Remember, you are loved.
