Salida Fiber Festival

Saturday five of us knitters traveled two hours North to Salida, Colorado, to attend this fiber extravaganza!!! The trip itself was beautiful.

Walking to the festival park we came across this pretty mural.

There were so many booths I wasn’t sure we would see it all….but I think we did.  The colors of all the yarn were mind blowing.

There was an artist there who made soft sculptured animals all from yarn.  Look at these amazing creations.

One booth was even selling angora bunny rabbits.  Folks comb their fur, spin it and then knit the yarn into a garment….so soft.

We went to a Cambodian restaurant for lunch…so good.

All in all it was a wonderful day.  Great friends, yarn, yummy lunch and all in a beautiful setting. Good day.

Meet the Troys

Labor Day Monday we made arrangements to meet up with Ann and Tom in Creede, Colorado.  They came over to enjoy the balloon festival in Creede.

We met at our favorite place to eat up there--at Kips Grill .  Love the sky view bar on the second floor with a beautiful view of the mountains.

Here we are with their daughter enjoying lunch and reminiscing about our time together last fall at Betty’s RV Park in Abbeville, Louisiana.  We so enjoyed our short time together.  Tom and Ann are such fun to be around!

 

Tuesday we moved back to Alamosa and will stay here until it gets cooler in Arizona where we will spend the Fall.

To use our time wisely I am volunteering at the public library in Alamosa.  Jim is peeling off the decals on the RV as they are cracking from sun exposure and are looking nasty.  We haven’t decided whether to leave the sides plain white or to try and paint in the swishes.  Any suggestions?
