Raul Family

It is always nice when local families come up to the mountains to camp with us.  Sometimes they come by themselves. Sometimes they make the campground a meeting place to have relatives come to visit from out of state.

Such was the case last weekend when the Raul Family came up from Alamosa and met with their son’s family from New Mexico.

Just love the colorful banners they put out. Notice the creek in the background?  This is one of many sites we have that are right on the water….very serene!!!  The granddaughters had a grand time watching the antics of the chipmunks and squirrels….and, of course, they loved petting Poncho and Chorizo when we went by on our daily walks.

Thanks for coming up Robert, please come back again soon.

Remember, you are loved.

Jambalaya

CIMG7529While we were in Louisiana we bought several packages of Jambalaya and Gumbo mixes put out by “Louisiana Fish Fry Products”.  Although I seldom use prepackaged items, this company puts out very taste fare that really comes out like homemade.

I put together some sausage that we bought in Lafayette, shrimp from Bayou Signette and a little chicken tenders.  Boy, did it come out good!!!!!!

Then I baked up some chocolate chip cookies, that I had made up and froze.  This keeps us from eating up the whole batch of cookies at once.  Having the cookie balls in the freezer allows us to take out 4-6 frozen cookies and bake them up fresh!

Campgrounds are getting busier, thankfully.  Have a family reunion at our campground that I will write about soon.
