We are coming to the end of our work with amazon.com here in Campbellsville, Kentucky. We have eight more working days, or 15 regular days to go, unless we get cut loose sooner. It can’t come too soon! We are really tired. It’s been 10 weeks with two to go.
Our real hurry is because it is freaky cold here!!! We have had lows of 17 degrees with highs only at 35 degrees. Plus it has snowed the last three days; no accumulation but still there was white stuff floating around. We have filled our fresh water holding tank and been working off of that exclusively to ward off having frozen water pipes. We ran the tank heaters too. Then this morning I woke up at 1 a.m. to “use the facility” and no water. We were frozen up. Jim got up and started tinkering. Finally after running the furnace warmed up the basement and heated the water pipes enough to break everything loose. This coming Monday it is suppose to be 6 degrees!!!!!!! It is so hard on the rig at that temperature, and us. We are all staying for the $500 per person bonus we get if we stay till the end or until we are released.
We’ve really enjoyed our stay here and the season at amazon.com. This facility is very well run, by very smart people. They are all very dedicated and you don't see a lot of idle chit-chat between folks. People here are all business, very well organized and work very well together. It's a wonderful place to work. The regular Amazonians have been great to work with and really show their appreciation for workampers. It’s made their work easier.
It just getting hard to live here anymore with the cold weather and all that we have to do to stay comfortable. But it is almost finished.
Remember, you are loved.
